Antenatal and Newborn Screening Kits Development Unit

This unit is responsible for providing scientific opinions on the updating of national antenatal, newborn, and premarital screening programs in line with global best clinical practices. It carries out necessary activities to meet the demand for advanced technology and innovation in these fields.

Duties and responsibilities:

a) To analyse internationally published outputs regarding Antenatal and Newborn Screening Kits, establish professional communications, and conduct R&D activities for the identification and development of new kits.

b) To prepare scientific opinions on the modernization of national antenatal, newborn, and premarital screening programs based on international best clinical practices; and to identify strategic project areas aimed at fulfilling the requirements for advanced technology and innovation.

c) To implement the advisory decisions made by the Science Boards within the Institute concerning the unit's field of duty, which are deemed appropriate and referred to the unit by the Head of the Institute.

d) To create, maintain, and ensure the up-to-dateness of necessary records and documentation related to the field of activity.

e) To plan and participate in educational activities such as seminars and courses, and to conduct project management and collaborative initiatives within the field of activity.

f) To carry out activities for the production of guidelines, books, publications, and other required materials related to the field of activity.

g) To contribute to the Institute’s operations in accordance with its corporate vision, mission, and ethical principles.

h) To fulfil other duties as assigned by the Head of the Institute.
