Genetic Diseases and Bioinformatics Unit

The unit responsible for conducting genome database reviews and project studies on subjects within the Institute's field of expertise.

Duties and responsibilities

a) To conduct studies on genome and proteome database reviews and projects for updating screening programs for diseases within the Institute's areas of interest.

b) To take part in determining the Institute’s project titles through genome and proteome database reviews.

c) To communicate with national and international institutions capable of performing advanced analysis with international published outputs of genome projects and bioinformatics cloud systems, and to sign scientific data-sharing agreements.

d) To carry out the tasks assigned to the unit by the Head of the Institute, based on the advisory decisions of the Science Boards concerning the unit's field of duty.

e) To create, maintain, and ensure the up-to-dateness of necessary records and documents related to the field of duty.

f) To plan and participate in activities such as trainings, seminars, and courses related to the field of duty; to carry out project management and cooperation activities.

g) To organize bioinformatics courses for obstetricians, gynecologists, and pediatricians.

h) To carry out activities for the preparation of guides, books, and publications required in the field of duty.

i) To contribute to the Institute's operations in adherence to its corporate vision, mission, and ethical rules.

j) To fulfill other duties assigned by the Head of the Institute.
