Climate and Productive Health in the Future of Healthcare

The “Awareness-Raising Meeting” of the Project for Strengthening Climate Change Adaptation Action in Türkiye and the Conference on Strengthening Societal and Sectoral Public Health Responses to the Health Effects of Climate Change were held in Istanbul on February 20, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dağ of the TAÇESE Institute under the Health Institutes of Türkiye (TÜSEB) delivered a presentation entitled “Climate and Productive Health in the Future of Healthcare.” In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Dağ emphasized the importance of transitioning the health sector toward renewable resources, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.

It was noted that the “Productive Health” initiative launched by the Ministry of Health aims to safeguard the future of health by offering solutions across a broad spectrum, from sustainable healthcare systems to individual awareness and lifestyle changes. Noting that the health sector is responsible for approximately 5% of greenhouse gas emissions, Prof. Dr. Dağ also emphasized the importance of ensuring that the concept of Productive Health is environmentally friendly.
